Type of personal data

Subject matter of the data processing by SIA Zvērinātu advokātu birojs Klauberg, Klauberg Advokaadibüroo OÜ and Klauberg APB (“the Consultancy Firms”) are:

  • contact details of clients and business contacts of the Consultancy Firms as well as, if applicable, other personal data required for the provision of our services or our communication;
  • Personal data of participants of the events organized by Consultancy Firms.

Legal basis for personal data processing

The Consultancy Firms process personal data to the extent that this is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests or/and in order to enter into or execute engagement agreements and business relationships, or in order to prepare or reply to requests for fee quotes and to determine the conditions of a contractual relationship with clients, business partners, service providers or cooperation partners; to organize events and to conduct registration procedures; to carry out internal administrative work (such as bookkeeping) of the Consultancy Firms; to provide client information, such as information about current legal and business issues or events; to ensure other communication; to ensure IT security and IT operations at the Consultancy Firms; to engage service providers (e.g., external IT service providers and quality management auditors) who support the business processes of the Consultancy Firms; to conduct compliance investigations.

Registration for events

Personal data collected from the registered participants will be stored and information regarding new events will be sent by e-mail unless participants unsubscribe from the mailing and marketing information.

 

Confidentiality
Each of employees, staff members and third-party service providers of the Consultancy Firms who have access to personal data are obliged to treat such data confidentially and are bound by the agreements or clauses which stipulate the requirements and rules of personal data processing.

 

Deletion of personal data
Personal data will be deleted after termination of the attorney-client, contract or service relationship or the contact of the Consultancy Firms, if the storage is not necessary to comply with (post-) contractual obligations or the legitimate interests cited in this data protection notice, and/or unless required by statutory retention obligations.

 

Disclosure of personal data
Personal data will be transmitted only after consent of a client or contact and on the basis of statutory provisions or other legal basis provided by General Data Protection Regulation.
To the extent required for the purposes outlined above, personal data may be disclosed to service providers within and outside the EU who perform specific services for the Consultancy Firms, such as IT services, after such service providers have been committed to privacy, and such service providers will process personal data only in accordance with the instructions of the Consultancy Firms.
In the course of the usual work processes of the Consultancy Firms and for the purposes specified above, personal data may be disclosed to third parties within and outside the EU, to business partners or to law firms with whom the Consultancy Firms cooperate on a client matter, to translators, opponents or to third parties.
Personal data may be disclosed to public authorities, public register and domestic and foreign courts in order to comply with statutory duties or in order to act in the interests of the Consultancy Firms.
Insofar as countries located outside the EU do not have similar data protection laws and regulations as inside the EU, the Consultancy Firms in their work will adopt appropriate measures to ensure that personal data will be adequately protected, taking into account the standard contractual clauses for such purposes published by the European Commission. Clients and contacts are entitled to receive information about personal data, to request correction or deletion of personal data or the restriction of the processing and to receive their personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
Clients and contacts are entitled to object to the processing of personal data.
To the extent that the Consultancy Firms process personal data in order to inform about their services and legal and business developments clients and contacts may object to a processing of personal data at any time and without stating any reasons.
Furthermore, with respect to the processing of personal data, clients and contacts are entitled to contact the supervisory authorities of Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia for a complaint.

 

Your rights
You have the following rights with regard to your personal data:

  • Right to information (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • Right to rectification and erasure (Art. 16 and 17 GDPR),
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • Right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

You also have the right to complain to the data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your data by us.
We would like to point out that you can revoke any data protection consent you may have given us at any time with effect for the future. The same applies to consent for advertising. The respective revocation can lead to the fact that our offers can no longer be made available to you or can only be made available to you to a limited extent.

Outsourced data processing

We have entered into an agreement with Google for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic data collection by Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics’ demographic features. This allows reports to be generated containing statements about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and third-party visitor data. This collected data cannot be attributed to any specific individual person.
